The annual Baptist History & Heritage Society conference is now, well, history. The First Baptist churches of Raleigh were wonderful hosts, the keynote speakers were excellent, and the many breakout papers explored the subject from a variety of perspectives.
Baptists Today contributing editor Tony Cartledge offers his observations on the conference, the theme of which was “Baptists and Theology,” in an article entitled,”Do Baptists Have a Core Identity?”
Next year’s annual conference is May 20-22, 2013 in Richmond. The theme is “Faith, Freedom, Forgiveness: Religion and the Civil War, Emancipation and Reconciliation in Our Time” and is co-sponsored by the Virginia Baptist Historical Society and the Center for Baptist Heritage and Studies.
