Donate to the BH&HS
The Society assists Baptists worldwide in remembering, preserving, and interpreting our common heritage for the benefit of the present and the future. We always appreciate general donations that assist in the day-to-day operation of the Society, as well as special donations for specific purposes and projects. Donations (see button to the left) are one way that persons, churches and other organizations may support the work of the Baptist History & Heritage Society.
All donations to the BH&HS are tax-deductible. For more information on donation categories, as well as life and sustaining memberships, click here.
CURRENT NEEDS
Here are some specific ways you can assist the Society in communicating the story of Baptists:
CO-SPONSORSHIP OF THE BAPTISTS AND AMERICAN CIVIL WAR DIGITAL PROJECT
From 2011 through 2015, the BH&HS is providing, for free, a daily digital journal of the Baptist experience during the American Civil War, entitled “Baptists and the American Civil War: In Their Own Words.” You can visit the project online at CivilWarBaptists.Com. The project has received critical acclaim from leading Civil War historians and religious scholars, including Martin Marty.
The project involves much time and effort, and the Society is seeking co-sponsors to help in offsetting the time, effort and resources involved in the five-year project. For a donation of $1000, your organization’s logo will be featured on the site. The Society also welcomes individual donations of any size to help further this project.
JOURNAL MAILING EXPENSES
The Society spends approximately $800 on mailing costs for each edition of the Baptist History & Heritage Journal (published three times each year), our signature publication. Please consider, as an individual or an organization, making a donation to cover the postage costs for one edition of the Journal. Your contribution to the Journal will be noted within the volume.
JOURNAL DESIGN EXPENSES
Each edition of the Baptist History & Heritage Journal incurs $1000 in design expenses. By providing the funding for one of our Journal editions, you are contributing significantly to the work of the Society. Your contribution to the Journal will be noted within the volume.
GENERAL OPERATING EXPENSES
In an era of financial challenges, we operate efficiently and make the most of the membership dues and donations that provide our operating capital. Our task of communicating the story of Baptists depends on your support, and your support has never been needed more than this year as the Society seeks to expand its visibility, publications, and presence. Please consider making a donation to assist in the day-to-day operating expenses of the Baptist History & Heritage Society.
