Call for Paper Proposals

2019 BH&HS Annual Conference
Campbell University School of Law &
First Baptist Church
Raleigh, North Carolina
May 20-May 22

The Baptist History and Heritage Society (BH&HS) will hold its 2019 annual conference on May 20-22, 2019 at the Campbell University School of Law and First Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Society is now accepting paper proposals for the conference. Proposals should be 500 words or less in length and may be on any topic related to Baptist history. Society members and non-members alike may submit proposals, but those selected to present papers at the conference are expected to join as members of the Society.

The 2019 meeting will be held in conjunction with the National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion (NABPR) and the Association of Ministry Guidance Professionals (AMGP). Paper proposals on topics that would appeal to the overlapping interests of BH&HS, NABPR, and AMGP are especially encouraged.

Proposals for themed sessions are also welcomed. A themed session should consist of two to three paper presentations on a unified theme and a suggested moderator. Proposals for creative sessions that are not traditional paper presentations are also encouraged. All papers will be scheduled within a 30 minute time period, including discussion.

Proposals for individual papers, themed paper sessions, panel discussions, and creative sessions will be accepted until January 15, 2019. All proposals will be accepted or denied by March 1, 2019.

Proposals must be submitted by email to the Society’s executive director:

Dr. John M. Finley
