Fellowship President Lloyd Harsch of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminarycalled the annual meeting to order and welcomed those attending the program portion of the meeting. Following a welcome by John Chowning, Vice President for Church and External Relations for Campbellsville University, Harsch introduced Dr. Marc Jolley, editor for Mercer University Press. Dr. Jolley spoke on the topic "Writing Baptist History." After a time for discussion, the meeting then moved to the Winters Dining Hall for the evening meal.

After the evening meal, President Harsch called the business meeting to order. Harsch then called upon Secretary Michael (Mike) Williams for a presentation of the minutes. After approval of the minutes, Williams then moved the adoption of membership for eight new members [for a total of 126 members.]  The new members were approved unanimously.  Williams urged eligible non-members who were present to give them their contact information and to join the FBH. He reminded the meal's participants that the only requirement for FBH membership is to be a supporting member of the Baptist History & Heritage Society.

There having not been a nominating committee, President Harsch took nominations from the floor for the officers.  As stated in Article IV of the bylaws, Vice President Carl Kell, Professor of Communication at Western Kentucky University was nominated to serve as President, Stephen Stookey of Dallas Baptist University was nominated to serve as

Vice President and Michael Williams, Dallas Baptist University as nominated to continue to serve as secretary.  There were no other nominations and the officers were elected.  After the meeting, however, the nomination of Gritz was ruled out of order since Gritz was not present and had not consented to serve.  A subsequent meeting of the officers determined that a nomination of Carl Kell of Western Kentucky University to serve as Vice President would be accepted and Kell agreed to serve.

Faught discussed the possibility of establishing an essay contest for B. A. and B. S. students in Baptist history sponsored by the Fellowship of Baptist Historians.  He agreed to send an e-mail to all FBH members encouraging them to contribute to a fund to support the essay contest.

Faught thanked Pam Durso, Associate Director of the Baptist History & Heritage Society, for arranging the meal with the representatives of First Baptist Church.  He then called upon Fellowship Secretary Williams for the presentation of a resolution of appreciation to First Baptist Church of Washington, D.
